With each customer review that we receive we gain more insight into the ways in which our products are seen by the end user and the types of projects they are used in. Take for example this most recent product review about an Rvinyl solid color wrap kit in our Matte Black film:


I applied some matte black wrap to the bumper on my 09 XB, between the upper and lower grilles. As a beginner, I found that the material took some getting used to. But, with some patience (along with a squeegee and a heat gun), the end result was great. The wrap was installed in the summer, and we are now well into a chilly and wet winter season. The wrap has held up great - just as the day it was applied. My "lack of skills" left me with some bubbles that I had to pin-hole away, but for the price, I can make a second - or even a third - attempt for much cheaper than to have a so-called pro install.


Sure, we'll be the first to admit that getting a good review feels great but, perhaps more importantly, this review serves to underscore for both ourselves and potential customers that the film is durable and resilient enough to be used on the exterior in all weather conditions. What Rshield Protection Film application tools do you recommend?
Rvinyl recommends the use of an application squeegee which will reduce air bubbles during installation and aide in heat conforming Protection Film. By using a low friction sleeve, you will reduce the chance of scratching your Rshield Film during application. Application solutions such as Rapid Clear will remove any dirt or debris from your application surface and Rapid Tac will aide in the wet application of our Paint Protection Film kits. We strongly recommend the use of these products to achieve professional results.


Why don't you offer a wider kit?
Your vehicle's paint surfaces are a difficult area to apply Rshield film to. It is wide and a cumbersome application area, however by reducing the area to two parallel sections, application becomes easier. The protective film seam will be almost invisible when properly applied.


What can Rshield Kits be applied to?
These sheets can be applied to car, truck or SUV bumpers, hoods, fenders, pillars, trunks and roofs. Any plastic trim, metal parts and just about any relatively non-porous surface on your vehicle


Do they have a glossy finish?
Yes, it has a gloss finish.


Is the surface durable?
When applied correctly to the appropriate hard surface the film is very durable, UV stable and scratch resistant.


Can it be applied to curved surfaces?
Carbon Fiber R One Kits can be applied to surfaces with extreme curvatures such as fenders or bumpers. They can be applied using a heated application method. This is an advanced installation procedure, but well worth the trouble.


Will it fade in the sun?
No, it is coated with a UV protective layer which will last up to three years outdoors.


Can it be cleaned?
Yes, once applied and bonded to your surface you may clean it and polish it with such things Armor All or any type of cleaning agent that is Acetate free.


What are the films physical properties?
 Thickness of film plus adhesive: .0042" (0.010668cm)
 Application temperature: 50°F to 104°F (10°C - 40°C)
 Rvinyl recommends an application temperature of 70-80°F (21° -26°)
 End Use temperature after application: -5°F to 194°F (-20°C - 90°C)

1998 - 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Dash Kit

We recently added the 1998 - 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Dash Kit to our site.   
I was personally surprised to learn that the Trans Am was actually a variant of the Firebird but I guess that goes to show how little I know about Pontiacs. Here's the blurb from our site:


"A midcycle refresh took place for 1998 with a new front-end look and powerful new "LS-1" 5.7-liter V8s that made 305 hp or 320 hp (with Ram Air). Apart from minor trim differences and a bump in power to 310 hp for the V8 in 2001, the Firebird soldiered through 2002 mostly unchanged."

The first generation G35 (V35) was introduced to North America for the 2003 model year, as a replacement for the Infiniti G20. For the 2005 models, there were sportier gauges and better interior trim and knobs.

The G35 is Infiniti's new entry-level luxury sport sedan. Aimed at buyers who would otherwise choose an Audi A4, BMW 3 Series or Lexus IS 300, the G35 offers impressive performance and comfort for a price that's less than most of the competition's.

What is this product?
Carbon Fiber R One Series Wrap Kits have a traditional carbon fiber pattern and are our most popular finish. This is Rvinyl's widest Carbon Fiber Film available and is coated with a semi-permanent pressure sensitive adhesive which allows for its application on most smooth and non-porous surfaces.

What can Rvinyl Wrap Kits be applied to?
Your car's hood, trunk, dashboard, gauges, interior accessories such as navigation systems, amplifiers, wheels, mirrors, door handles, glass, cell phones, laptops, motorcycle plastic trim, metal parts and just about any relatively non-porous surface.

Does it have a glossy finish?
Yes, it has a gloss finish. This is not a high gloss finish as in our Carbon Fiber R Two and Carbon Fiber R Three series wrap kits.

What is the difference between Carbon Fiber R One, Two and Three Series films?
Rvinyl R One film is our widest printed vinyl based film and designed to be applied to curved or compounded surfaces. R Two and R Three series films are foil based, have a different pattern and are designed to be applied to simple curves, but generally flatter even surfaces.

Carbon Fiber Vinyl R Three series film is a revolution in polyester films. This UV stable vinyl has an amazing high gloss finish so reflective you can see yourself in it! Available in Carbon Fiber Black or Silver it is a prefect film for hood applications or those boring flat aftermarket spoilers.

What can Rvinyl Wrap Kits be applied to?
