The Legality of Window Tint: What You Need to Know

Any of you who have been following my blog posts will know that we recently discussed the meaning of tint percentages in terms of VLT and darkness. This is an important topic for consideration not just for aesthetic reasons (i.e., you want your car to have a dark enough tint to look good) but for legal issues as well (you don’t want you tints to get you a ticket). In my last post I tried to point out that the legal limit for tint percentages varies from state to state so it is always important for you to check with your local authorities to be sure that your tint falls within the acceptable range. One great way to be sure you are in compliance with state laws is to check websites like TintLaws.com or TintDude.com.

Check out the latest post on window tint legality in our site's Help Center section and let me know what you think.

The Sport Tuned 2009 Honda Accord Coupe

Even though its a Coupe, this year's Accord 2DR is very spacious and provides more room than some 4-door vehicles.  Add a highly effective V6 and renowned performance and efficiency and you have got a winner. In simple terms, the 2-door Accord is a sport tuned edition of its big sibling the Sedan and it does so without sacrificing any of the reliability or gas efficiency. Significant exterior design elements include a sloping roofline and steep windshield, a longer nose and hood and a fashionable front fascia and aggressive headlights.

The inside of the Accord Coupe is, as we mentioned, amazingly spacious. The wheel telescopes and tilts in all sub-models(whether you choose the LX-S or the EX-L) and all manages are comfortableness position to be easy to arrive at. Honda has structured the gauages and controls by classification and color which, though in theory a wise decision, causes a cluttered overall look.

The Chevy S-10 versus the Ford Ranger - Mini Trucks at WAR!

When it rains it pours and we've certainly had a bunch of S-10's lately as well as a dash kit photo submission from the S-10's successor the Chevy Colorado. Who knew that compact pick-ups would be so popular? Strangely enough, if you browse the forums you'll find that    mini trucks are, in fact, all the rage but you'll also discover that the Ranger seems to have a much more of a loyal following. In addition, it seems to consistently outrank the S10 in reviews and in the following YouTube video:

Still, the contest doesn't seem fair or even so there's not much to be made from. In addition, I don't think I have received on photo submission or custom kit request for a Ford in the last 3 months but I have half a dozen submissions from Chevy owners and at least one custom dash kit designed. Take a look at Mike's pictures of his pre-cut visor installed here and let us know what you think at the poll below:

The 2002 325i Sedan - Pre-cut Window Tint on a German Beauty

The BMW 3-Series has been around longer than most everyone employed by Rvinyl having made its debut in 1975! The amazing staying power of the 3-Series is due in no small part to BMW’s seemingly eternal commitment to great performance and inspired design so it may not be such a surprise to learn that 30%of all BMW sales (excluding motorbikes) are of the 3-Series. Now, don’t ask me why but the 2002 BMW 325i is also know as the E46 which is the 4th generation of the 3-Series but it may have some arcane, Teutonic connection to the engine size. Regardless of the weird classification scheme for the naming of BMWs I think we can all agree the 325i is a beautiful piece of automotive machinery. The 2002 sedans and wagon (of which Matt‘s is the former) received facelifts  and a range of new performance and ergonomic options. According to Edmunds.com some of the most salient changes are as follows:
The center stack has been altered to accommodate the new automatic climate controls. Steptronic automanual operation has been altered so that you move the transmission lever forward for downshifts and backward for upshifts. Bi-xenon headlamps are on the options list so that both low and high beams can glow a cold blue and can be set to automatic operation. Rear side airbags are available for coupes and convertibles. Two new colors, Electric Red and Gray Green (and a Natural Brown interior leather) join the color spectrum.
As you can see, the feature-rich E46 is well-worth every dime and it only makes sense to protect your investment with the addition of window tint. As you can see from the photos below, Matt was able to use our lightest tint shade (the 50%) to good aesthetic effect. And although he didn’t go with the usual limo tint dark 5% he can be sure that the pre-cut front  window tint kit he installed on his driver and passenger doors will protect his interior from the harmful UV rays.
